Overview

The Consultant, Restaurant Food Safety & TM Health provides specialty consulting services to Operations Leads, Chick-fil-A Franchisees and various other CFA Support Center groups. This consulting service includes providing expertise in all areas related to food safety and the health of restaurant Team Members. This also includes serving Operations Leads and Operators to ensure that regulatory requirements are met in the various local, state and national jurisdictions.

  • Partner with Area Support Teams, Operations Leads and Operators to identify, diagnose, and support resolution of Restaurant and market level food safety or Team Member health risks
  • Provide expertise to Operations Leads and Operators in the resolution of the major Health Department risk factors and compliance to the FDA Food Code
  • Independently partners with Operations Leads as an expert liaison in the event of potential food safety or Team Member health situation that may justify or require Restaurant closure
  • Establish the path and criteria to re-open a Restaurant that undergoes a closure for food safety related reasons
  • Aid restaurants in defining both short-term and long-term food safety and Team Member Health culture wins
  • Serve as the technical expert on prioritization, energy focus and resources to strengthen food safety and Team Member Health operations and culture
  • Represent and influence Restaurant-level Food Safety needs to the Food Safety Solutions, Systems, and Culture Teams and broader organization for the highest risk opportunities
  • Review Restaurant Food Safety challenges to identify potential root causes and determine the most appropriate consulting support to determine steps toward solutions for highest risks
  • Autonomously manage internal relationships with other departments to influence improved food safety and Team Member health systems across the organization
  • Works with significant latitude independently to make decisions and take action in all situations



Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a food safety subject matter expert (Restaurant experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in a science such as: Food Science, Biochemistry, Engineering, Environmental Health Science, Chemistry, Biology or other related area
  • Ability to work in a technical area and a non-technical area (such as a restaurant environment).
  • Ability to influence change in a complex environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build long term, trust based relationships
  • Maintain high standard for achieving goals, process utilization, and strive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and priorities
  • Attention to detail and organization skills with in-depth operational knowledge


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced degree in related specialization area
  • Spanish speaking
