Associate Director/Senior Corporate Counsel - Litigation
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel – Litigation to join our Legal Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of litigating complex commercial disputes, including managing outside counsel and overseeing a diverse portfolio of issues. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and provides a unique opportunity to work across the business on high-impact issues, advising executives and teams on legal risk and dispute resolution strategies while balancing business objectives.
What You'll Do:
- Manage Litigation Portfolio: Oversee all aspects of commercial, contractual, and regulatory disputes — from pre-litigation strategy through resolution, trial/hearing, or settlement.
- Outside Counsel Oversight: Select, retain, and supervise outside counsel; manage budgets, strategy, and case outcomes.
- Risk Assessment: Provide strategic advice to business leaders on potential litigation risks, dispute avoidance, and contract enforcement.
- Dispute Resolution: Develop and execute effective strategies for arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Legal, Finance, Operations, and Compliance to identify risks early and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Reporting: Prepare regular litigation reports and updates for executive leadership.
- Policy & Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of litigation protocols, e-discovery management systems, and internal knowledge-sharing tools.
What You'll Need:
- JD from an accredited school with exceptional academic credentials
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant litigation experience in a top law firm and/or in-house counsel position, including experience with a broad spectrum of legal issues.
- Member in good standing with a state Bar, and eligible to attain, Florida house counsel exemption
- Be able to manage litigation and investigations internally, as well as manage outside counsel
- Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks to the Company, including economic, legal, and reputational
- Be a team-player who can lead internal projects and initiatives
- Develop creative and compliant solutions to assist in resolving complicated issues
- Ability to think on your feet to independently identify risks and formulate strategies regarding same. Position requires experience providing advice and counseling to business clients at various levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills. This position requires fast-paced multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues involving business partners in various locations
- Display the highest level judgment, ethical conduct, and integrity
- Candidate should possess empathy, excellent professional judgment, and a good sense of humor
- Position may require occasional travel
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
