Chewy is hiring an Associate Director of Engineering for our Supply Chain team in Minneapolis, MN.  Millions of pet parents visit Chewy.com looking for products for their beloved pets. As the leader of in the Supply Chain Organization, you’ll be part of core leadership team and will influence technical strategy and vision for building best in the class supply chain management systems with a deep focus on technology first solutions.  This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work closely with product managers, engineering, analytics, project management, design, finance, and executive teams to help Chewy build technology to deliver our products to our customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and lead a team(s) of 5-20 Full Stack Software Engineers.
  • Recruit and hire engineers and mentor the growth of the team.
  • Review tasks and projects from idea, architecture, plan, code, validation, deployment, monitoring and provide feedback for individual contributors.
  • Collaborative with partner Product teams, Designs teams, Engineering teams, Science teams to deliver best results.
  • Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams.
  • Must be able to identify and manage priorities within the context of overall corporate objectives & engineering goals.
  • Work with others in teams to drive best practices in software development, testing, and production deployment.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Systems Engineering or a similar math or engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects (mobile or web application development, test automation, or release engineering domains).
  • 7-12 years of experience in software development as a software engineer.
  • Solid fundamental background in multiple testing disciplines (e.g. APIs, Functional UI testing, Performance testing, data-oriented systems test, distributed systems, operation excellence etc).
  • Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Must be more than proficient at both written and spoken English.
  • Position may require travel.

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Experience with Machine Learning, particularly prediction models.
  • Experience with Optimization Models.
  • Familiarity with large scale data processing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, EMR, etc.
