Position summary:

This supervisory role manages a team of 12 Trade Desk Support Analysts. The team of analysts sit within our Crude, Products and Gas trading businesses and are responsible for the maintenance and analysis of our physical and financial positions within our Energy Trading and Risk Management system (Solarc RightAngle (SRA); Endur). Trade Desk Support Analysts work closely with team members in trading, finance, risk control and operations teams to manage and understand commodity earnings and exposure.

Team Lead responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment of Trade Desk Support Analysts in to the company and team

  • Onboarding, coaching, mentoring and delivering training to team members in key work skills, business and commercial acumen

  • Provide seamless analyst coverage across multiple trading desks - managing for planned and unplanned absences

  • Nurture a culture of continual process improvement and digital innovation. Identify, participate, leverage, and advocate for solutions that will:

    • Reduce costs and increase profitability

    • Increase speed and efficiency

    • Enhance reliability and reduce risk

  • Lead or provide resources in support of local and corporate initiatives

  • Responsible for interfacing with non-S&T group in cross Business Unit initiatives and studies

  • Demonstrate visible leadership as part of the local leadership team

About you:

  • Previous experience of leading others whether formally or informally through mentorship, project leadership or previous supervisory roles

  • Believe in getting results the right way

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (particularly advanced Excel skills, Power BI)

  • Strong business acumen

Advantageous if you have:

  • Prior knowledge of the trade lifecycle from deal execution through to invoicing

  • Prior commercial experience in the oil or energy industry

  • Experience of Trade Capture systems, particularly SolArc RightAngle and Endur

  • Experience using python or similar programming language

  • Project Management experience

Relocation Options: 

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
