Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • This role requires a demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with fundamental to intermediate network security concepts like firewall policies, routing and switching as an ability to troubleshoot infrastructure components.
  • In addition to executing network security concepts a successful candidate will collaborate with routing and switching network engineers to design and deploy security devices
  • Provide implementation assistance on Palo Alto firewall, Panorama firewall management and Global Protect VPN security technologies
  • Develop network security hardware standards, implement solutions and processes to maintain the reliability, effectiveness, and efficiency of network security infrastructure components across the enterprise and associated process control environments.
  • Work with project owners, DevOps team members, architects, business units and other stakeholders to create agile solutions, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, creating new or improved processes and automation to support step changes in operational efficiencies.
  • Lead and provide subject matter expertise, and collaborates extensively with other IT SMEs in design, deployment, and implementation of network security solutions by utilizing next generation security technologies and improving frameworks for controls and policies.
  • Analyze network security needs and designs solutions that meet business requirements for protection, standardization, efficiency, scalability, supportability, and cost-effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent security engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Network data gathering tools, traffic analysis, network concepts from layer 2 through 7 including NAT and application identification.
  • Encryption technologies - PKI/SSL, decryption tools.
  • Secure network design, Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, proxies, Global Protect VPN and third-party connectivity.
  • Palo Alto firewall policy implementation skills.
  • Problem Solving, and ability to accomplish desired results independently with minimal direction in alignment with team goals and security standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships at all levels with operations, design, projects, vendors, peers, etc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Networking and/or Security.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
