The Business Strategy team within Schwab's Client Service & Support organization enables leaders across the service organization to explore and set strategy, prioritize our investments, understand the perspective of our clients, and tell our strategic story along the way. As the Project Manager for the team, you will be charged with enabling the delivery of thoughtful and insightful contributions across a range of high-stakes strategic results for the service organization. You will work across the Retail organization alongside senior leaders and a hardworking team of strategy and industry veterans who are defining the Schwab of the future.

As a Sr. Project Manager, you will:

  • Strategic Program Oversite: Lead multiple high impact strategic initiatives, aligning timelines, stakeholders, and business outcomes across workstreams.
  • Milestones Guidance & Executive Reporting: Define and enforce milestone discipline, build and own centralized reporting mechanisms, and ensure senior leadership has real time visibility.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Proactively manage and influence stakeholders, anticipating objections and adapting communication styles accordingly.
  • Process Design and Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in how projects are being run and introduce scalable improvements.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Coordinate across functions, breaking down silos and driving alignment.
  • Execution Focus: Take proactive steps to advance workstreams without waiting for detailed alignment.
  • Communication: Craft clear updates, synthesize complexity, and present effectively to different levels of the organization.
  • Problem Solving: Work alongside strategists to define issues, test solutions, and remove roadblocks.
  • Adaptability: Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities without losing momentum.

What you have

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of project/program management experience, including at least 3 years managing complex cross-functional efforts in a strategic or transformational context.
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred work experience in financial services industry, corporate strategy, consulting or like industry.
  • High Proficiency with MS Office Products and adjacent tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, think cell, etc.).
  • Experience with Project Management software (Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Power BI, etc.).
  • Proven ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Personally, and professionally aligned with Schwab's vision and values, and a strong interest in financial services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of managing executives and aligning stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and drive execution under pressure, without formal authority.
  • Experience building project governance frameworks and reporting tools.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Projects, Confluence).
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
