Schwab's Digital Wealth and Advisor Platforms team is seeking a Product Manager with a Wealth Management background. The Product Manager (individual contributor) will identify opportunities and develop strategies for digital platforms and capabilities used to deliver wealth management. This individual will be responsible for driving capability research and assessments, evaluating opportunities, and developing future state concepts for advice and wealth management user experiences. The Product Manager will coordinate user experience effort ideations with cross-enterprise partners fleshing out vision and driving clear understanding of feasibility, opportunity, and trade-offs. They will create and deliver effective communications for partners, stakeholders, and governance to drive clarity and promote both near and long-term strategies.

This role is for individuals with a bias for action and who are detail oriented and have the flexibility and maturity to work well with many partners to identify solutions that will benefit long-term strategies.

What you'll do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our users and leverage data in the design of new processes and interactions to enhance the overall user experience
  • Leverage wealth management experience to design effective user and client journeys
  • Set a digital product vision, and a roadmap to get there, in partnership with key stakeholders at Schwab
  • Develop frameworks and drive to decisions on which opportunities to prioritize
  • Influence leaders and peers through both verbal and written (PowerPoint) communication to gain alignment on key decisions to advance how to serve advisors and clients
  • Standup programs to define requirements and facilitate delivery of digital experiences, including working with relevant technology domains; engaging in discussions around trade-offs; and providing feedback to partners designing solutions
  • Analyze existing and future internal tools (proprietary and third party) and develop strategies for creating and integrating experiences for the future
  • May manage development efforts and technology scrum teams: writing user stories, refining the backlog, and working with User Experience designers

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Wealth management experience: You have directly delivered or developed products that supported the delivery of wealth management such as investment and retirement planning
  • Structured problem solving: You can bring order to an ambiguous problem, breaking it down into its key components and providing a framework that helps focus our thoughts and energy on what matters most
  • Analysis / decision support: You can identify the key pieces of information that we must know to make a decision and can either find answers yourself or identify the partners who will help you get those answers; This includes the ability to structure and execute quantitative analysis, e.g. calculating how much an initiative might cost
  • Storytelling and executive communication: You can communicate a strategy through executive-level PowerPoint materials, tailoring your message to the audience and telling a compelling story to drive to our desired outcomes
  • Sequencing work into a series of steps: You can identify where we are on a body of work, our desired destination, and the steps or actions to take to reach that destination
  • Planning and executing large & complex projects: You can identify a set of workstreams and deliverables necessary to execute on an overall objective; you can organize these workstreams into an overall program structure with associated timelines, stakeholders, and governance; and you can facilitate the execution of workstreams by working with partners to define the client experience, detail key requirements, and hand the requirements off to the relevant technology domains to execute

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions and progress in the face of ambiguity and at times overlapping priorities
  • A positive attitude, solid work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of comfort with technology
  • Bachelor and post graduate degrees

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
