SAM is looking for a credit research analyst to support the Corporate Credit Research Group. The Corporate Credit Research Group is responsible for analyzing credit across the corporate credit spectrum and the entire yield curve. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for:
- Conducting credit analysis and make security recommendations for separately managed accounts (SMAs), mutual funds, and ETFs
- Support portfolio managers in the security selection process which includes providing sector and issuer-specific risk assessments;
- Determining internal issuer/security ratings;
- Preparing detailed, concise, and accurate credit reports;
- Provide verbal credit presentations to large and small internal audiences;
- Providing on-going surveillance of assigned corporate issuers.

Key factors for success in this role include:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in financial markets, specifically fixed income;
- Ability to think strategically and apply broad economic trends as a component of investment recommendations;
- Strong fundamental and in-depth issuer-specific credit analysis skills
- Strong and effective interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing priorities within established deadlines;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in making appropriate credit recommendations.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of fixed income credit research experience or related analytical role
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent fundamental credit analysis skills involving corporate issuers; strong quantitative acumen
- Ability to think strategically, evaluate industry and economic/sovereign trends, and apply analysis to make appropriate investment recommendations for the funds and SMA accounts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills. Experience writing investment reports, a plus.
