Senior Security Development & Engineer (Network Edge)
Pay range: USD $155,000.00 - $195,000.00 / Year
Your opportunity
You will be a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer - Network in Schwab's Cybersecurity Organization (SCS). SCS is chartered with advancing Schwab's security posture, enabling the business to take intelligent risks while enhancing the protection of Schwab's brand, employees, shareholders, data, and other critical assets.
This role involves integrating and implementing network edge technologies, services, use case development, and alerting into Cybersecurity Defense models focused on process, management, and execution. The role is part of a team of Engineers that develop technical strategy, design and execution of the final operational processes for cybersecurity technologies. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer - Network is required to have a thorough understanding of threat protection and alerting in network edge environments and is responsible for developing relevant alert use cases and response protocols. The position also includes overseeing process implementation and improvement, enhancing both short and long-term security operations, facilitating cross-team collaboration, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
What you have
- Proficient in developing use cases, conducting risk assessments, and generating alerts within Security Information Event Management, Continuous Monitoring, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Network Traffic Analysis, Incident Response, and Threat Modeling.
- Maintain an expert level understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain, Intelligence Driven Defense, and MITRE ATT&CK framework to apply these principles to the network edge security realm.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced artificial intelligence technologies within network edge security operations to strengthen overall cybersecurity posture.
- Ability to develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for operational success
- Responds immediately to support investigation of cybersecurity-related incidents and provides a thorough post-event analysis.
- Ability to communicate well with teams and leaders of the organization; have good listening skills and ask great questions
- This position requires good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving skills, expert and strategic thinking
- Strong technological affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail is required.
- A willingness to learn and grow is a must. The candidate will have strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor. You can transition and cross train peer teams on your security designs and technology development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations
- Previous experience in a highly regulated environment with appreciation for audit and regulatory principles will benefit the applicant
- Collaborate with Security Architects and Engineers from across the organization for the planning, design, and building of network security final operational architecture; oversee the implementation of network and computer security and ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Experience being a part of a team that security assessments of applications and systems using penetration and vulnerability testing and risk analysis.
- Develops and evaluates compliance with programs and processes to mitigate cybersecurity risk and ensure protection of company and allied assets and information.
- Research and interpret current and pending governmental laws and regulations, industry standards, and customer and vendor contracts to communicate compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline required, advanced degree preferred
- CISSP or GSEC certifications required
