The Regulatory Liaison Office's (RLO) mission is to drive an informed, efficient, and effective regulatory engagement program by serving as a central point of contact for all regulatory risk matters. The RLO's vision is to be a trusted liaison with Schwab business partners and with our regulators by encouraging clarity, communication and credibility to support Schwab's businesses as they help our clients Own Their Tomorrow.

The Regulatory Exam Team is responsible for the coordination of regulatory activities, supervising regulatory developments, and to aid the analysis or response to proposed and new regulations or supervisory guidance.
As a Senior Manager, Regulatory Liaison Office you will support broad areas of regulatory focus including Finance, and Risk Management.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the RLO Regulatory Exam Team in providing subject matter expertise on prudential supervisory expectations across various risk stripes: financial, compliance, technology, operational, etc.
- Assist in preparing leadership for prudential and state regulatory interactions such as virtual & in-person routine continuous monitoring meetings and exams.
- Help produce impact analyses of developments and trends in state and federal regulatory landscape to navigate changes to Schwab.
- Take part in exam coordination and administration, including exam request and response tracking, meeting facilitation, and submissions support.
- Provide ongoing consultation to internal stakeholders on internal risk and performance practices and external opportunities for banking policy advocacy
- Assist in special projects and other regulatory examinations of subsidiaries
- Collaborate extensively with peers in Legal, Internal Audit, Corporate Risk Management, and First Line Business Units.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of 'challenging the status quo,' this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5+ plus years of regulatory experience, ideally with a Prudential Financial regulator or working in a financial institution.
- Prior experience interacting with regulators in a previous position required.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory examination framework, regulatory laws, supervisory guidance.
- In-depth knowledge of effective risk management practices and the applicability to a large financial firm pertaining to capital, liquidity, market and interest rate risk.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree with financial related certifications such as CFA, CPA, FRM, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with key business partners and at all levels of the firm.
- Excellent judgment and critical thinking in order to provide sound strategic advice to business partners.
- Excellent quantitative skills and expertise.
