The Client Data Technology organization is comprised of teams that support Schwab business goals through the delivery of technology solutions that focus on providing enhancements and functionalities that are needed to support our corporate customer and accounts. We are seeking for a dynamic and motivated, experienced Java developer to advance our platform offerings and driving innovation.
The Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering Senior will work with technical and business partners to design and maintain optimal programming and environment solutions. Job activities will involve researching and documenting production environments, architecture, developing solutions and supporting the tools and processes to gather detailed user requirements, architecting/developing a solution, and driving strategic planning discussions with technical, business, and client stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate is a servant leader who can lead multiple parallel initiatives - big and small - with attention to detail, manages outcomes, and has experience managing resources across multiple locations including offshore.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
- 8+ years experience with the following: Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST and SOAP) supporting high volume transactions in a Highly Available environment
- 4-6 years experience in Distributed Databases PostgresSQL (preferred) and NoSQL databases; MongoDB, Yugabyte
- 4+ years experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
- 4+ years experience with continuous build process using Bamboo, Bitbucket/Git, or similar tools
- 4+ years experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or AWS or GCP.
- 4+ years knowledge of the Agile methodology and experience in an Agile working environment
- 4+ years experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA et alia)
- 3+ years experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, message queues, etc.)
- 3+ years project delivery with ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions.
- 3+ years prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups
- 2+ years experience in Cloud deployment in a CI/CD delivery model.
- 1+ years experience with batch jobs or data pipeline frameworks like Spring Batch, PySpark etc.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, or related field
- Experience with Java and .NET framework and programming tools (Visual Studio) and C# is a plus
- IT Transformations and system modernization experience from legacy to distributed platforms; i.e. Mainframe Cobol apps/DB2 to Java apps/SQL
- Experience in Financial Services industry
- Experience in Test Driven Development
