The Wealth & Asset Management Solutions (WAMS) team is part of Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) enterprise. The WAMS team is responsible for the distribution and support of proprietary, and certain third-party asset management, products and services to consultants and advisors, across multiple distribution channels. The team also supports with the marketing efforts of the solutions, working closely with Offer Management, Product and Marketing teams.
What you'll do:
The WAMS Retail Sales Director will lead a team of approximately 12 Directors who are responsible for growing Schwab Wealth Advisory, proprietary, and 3rd party SMAs within a defined territory of Schwab retail locations. With our 'through the clients' eyes' philosophy, this leader's team will use education and field activities to improve the experience of clients and the field, driving higher client-promoter-scores.
The Director will develop a business plan, define team goals and priorities, allocate resources, and secure alignment among key leaders and business partners to achieve success and support Schwab's 'win-win' monetization priority. Strategy work will include supporting and growing existing offers, effectively bringing new solutions, products, and initiatives to market, and supporting the expansion of Schwab Wealth Advisory as the firm's Premier wealth management offer.
Additional responsibilities:
- Manage and secure alignment on priorities; lead the team towards stated objectives through coaching, leadership, and execution.
- Effectively communicate results to team members and senior leaders, using data and insights essential to influencing outcomes and driving results.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Risk partners to ensure practices and procedures are consistent with governing regulations, firm policy, and values of the firm.
- Deliver clear direction, mindful prioritization of the team members, as well as coordinate with business partners to effectively drive field engagement, identify gaps and recommend solutions to meet client needs.
- Effectively communicate team responsibilities, direction, and deliverables under a common vision to ensure engagement, accountability, and drive team-based results.
What you have
- 10+ years of experience in a publicly traded complex financial services corporate environment with demonstrated exposure in broker-dealer and asset management functions, across varied strategic investment disciplines.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team in driving priorities, accountability, and results.
- Demonstrated strengths in recruiting to build a strong team, coaching team members to deepen skill and elevate performance, and collaborating with business partners.
- Passion for service, professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and teamwork.
- Strong leadership, strategic vision, and management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Broker/Dealer, Investor Services, policies, and procedures.
- Proven track record to deliver excellent service with the ability to anticipate and resolve problems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize business needs and manage time effectively.
- Experience managing multiple priorities.
- Exceptional ability to work with all levels of clients, no matter their financial needs.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- CFP preferred.
- Required licensing Series 7, 66 & 24.
