The Schwab Technology Services group develops, maintains, and supports end-to-end technology services. We strive to ensure our business and technology partners get the right services at the right cost, and the quality levels meet or exceed their needs and expectations.

The Core Integration & Strategy (CSI) group is accountable for the technology strategy, implementation, and execution of business critical, complex, cross vertical initiatives across Core Technology Solutions (CTS) and its partner organizations within STS and allied business portfolios. Recent examples include Account Number Expansion (ANEx) for the Broker Dealer Modernization initiative, Clearing conversion, Cashiering Instructions conversion, Scalability and Winddown programs and projects across STS for the Ameritrade Integration initiative.

The Opportunity

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive the delivery of business and technology critical programs from the ideation phase through to Implementation; and be the single point of accountability with business, technology, operations, and project services partners. You will be accountable for developing and supporting technology SDLC processes, frameworks and teams that enable the delivery of these types of initiatives.

This role requires leading a dynamic team of people and process leaders, individual contributors including Engineers in Development and Test, Technical Analysts, Scrum Masters, program management, as well as effectively collaborating with cross enterprise Managers. This leader must have strong execution, organizational and people leadership capabilities to lead Agile-oriented Product Development teams. The ability to understand and align with technology and business goals and communicate to senior business leadership is an essential component of the role. Candidates should have a passion for influencing and inspiring leaders and teams from Technology and across the enterprise in delivering critical and innovative solutions that meet Schwab's business needs.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of a scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise move money platform.
  • Partner with product, architecture, compliance, and infrastructure teams to define and align on platform vision and delivery roadmap.
  • Drive strategic alignment across business units, technology teams, and external partners.
  • Serve as a senior liaison to product management, risk, regulatory, and operations stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Own the successful delivery of multi-year enterprise initiatives, managing scope, budget, and timeline across multiple workstreams.
  • Implement engineering best practices, continuous integration, and high-quality release pipelines for fast, safe, and sustainable delivery.
  • Ensure platform scalability and readiness for enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of engineering managers, tech leads, and software engineers.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Drive career development, succession planning, and hiring strategies to support platform growth.

What you have

Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of leading and managing IT teams, with project management, resource management, and offshore resource management capabilities.
  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience with running medium to large/complex projects with multiple dependencies.
  • Base Compensation: $136,900-$304,200. Your compensation may be different. Talk with your Talent Advisor to learn more. In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or other incentive opportunities.

  • Experience in planning, implementation, and support of business application components, including change and release management.

Technical

  • Professional experience building scalable enterprise applications with high availability and reliability.
  • Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail and the ability to design, execute against strategic goals.
  • Experience leading in an Agile delivery environment and implementing continuous delivery is a big plus.
  • Good knowledge of IT/software technology and trends, domain knowledge and experience in infrastructure support, application development, and cloud-based application development, web services, middleware, operating systems, databases, networking, security, and business intelligence.
  • Deep understanding of Rest APIs & Microservices architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, Cloud Technologies & Container platforms. Experience leading legacy technology stack is a plus.
