At Schwab, the Data Architecture team delivers forward-thinking solutions to build highly available, scalable, and reliable platforms, enabling business stakeholders to make informed decisions to help clients own their financial futures. We are seeking an innovative thought leader to join our dynamic architecture team, where you will be instrumental in architecting, designing, guiding, and governing the implementation of the next generation client data ecosystem. This role will involve shaping architecture strategy to modernize existing client data ecosystem using modern data patterns and technologies. You will develop comprehensive data blueprints with 3-5 years roadmaps, collaborate closely with enterprise governance teams to ensure compliance with the Schwab technology standards, proactively identify potential solution risks and create mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will mentor development teams, ensuring solutions align with the reference architecture and drive forward our long-term vision.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience in data integration strategies (Batch, real-time and near real-time), database technologies (including SQL, NoSQL and Graph), data analytics, data modeling and data observability
  • 8+ years' experience architecting and designing enterprise scale data solutions for transactional data in a highly regulated environment
  • 8+ years' experience in designing Master Data and Operational data platforms
  • 8+ years demonstrated senior-level critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making
  • 8+ years demonstrated experience working with cross-functional team collaboration including engineering, product, business and executive leadership
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience communicating and presenting strategic updates to senior level leadership
  • 5+ years of experience implementing various agile development techniques
  • 3+ years' demonstrated proficiency in developing data standards and best practices
  • 3+ years' experience in cloud technologies such as GCP or AWS
  • 3+ years' experience in migrating legacy transactional/operational data solutions to cloud
  • 3+ years' experience with emerging data technologies and patterns

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
  • Knowledge and skills in designing rules/decision engines
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Bamboo, Github, Jenkins, Cloud build
  • Functional knowledge of financial banking, stock brokerage or insurance domains
  • Attitude that fosters continuous learning and innovation

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
