The Director of Portfolio Transition Offer Management plays a critical leadership role within Schwab's Investment & Offer Solutions (IOS) organization, part of the Wealth and Advice Solutions (WAS) enterprise. IOS is responsible for Schwab's investment solution marketplaces, including Mutual Funds, ETFs, 529 Plans, SMAs, Alternatives, Fixed Income, Structured Products, Annuities, and Insurance.

In this role, you will lead cross-functional initiatives to support clients facing complex portfolio transition needs, including managing concentrated equity positions and enrolling in managed investing offers. As a senior leader on the IOS team, you will collaborate with business partners across Schwab to design and implement seamless, tax-aware solutions that help clients move confidently into advice-driven portfolios.

Key Outcomes:

  • Lead critical cross-enterprise initiatives to deliver a cohesive, client-centric experience for transitioning investment portfolios
  • Design and develop Schwab's portfolio transition capabilities in partnership with Asset Management, Digital, Technology, and field organizations
  • Orchestrate efforts across product, offer, trading, marketing, and client-facing teams to build a robust solution set for clients with concentrated equity positions
  • Monitor industry trends, technology, and competitor offerings to inform Schwab's transition strategy and innovation roadmap
  • Manage and develop a small, high-performing team of individual contributors
  • Serve as a key member of the IOS leadership team, influencing strategy and driving alignment across key business lines

What you have

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of financial services experience, with deep expertise in wealth management and investment products-particularly models, SMAs, and tax-optimized investing
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build scalable solutions that support complex wealth transition needs across diverse client segments
  • Strong working knowledge of portfolio transition mechanics, tax-aware liquidation, and solutions for concentrated equity positions
  • Proven success collaborating across product, investment, legal, technology, and distribution teams to shape and launch enterprise capabilities
  • Experience managing or significantly influencing offer development or platform strategy in a complex financial services environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills; able to influence across a matrixed organization
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a bias for action and innovation
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Experience:

  • MBA, CFA, CFP, or other advanced credentials strongly preferred
  • High degree of comfort dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes in a highly matrixed organization
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, particularly when crafting materials for senior leadership or external stakeholders
  • Strong emotional intelligence/maturity
  • Senior level executive presence
  • Comfortable with debate and willing to challenge the status quo

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
