Online Security Technology team needs a Director of Strategy and Execution, Client Authentication to lead the strategic vision and execution of our enterprise-wide client authentication and authorization initiatives. This role is at the intersection of business strategy, product innovation, and cybersecurity, and is responsible for driving the roadmap, long-term strategy, and execution to ensure secure, seamless, and scalable customer experiences across our channels.

This is a critical role that will partner with senior leaders across FCRM, Fraud, Security, and Engineering to align on priorities, influence investment decisions, and build a forward-thinking strategy that addresses the evolving threat landscape and regulatory environment.

High Level Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the strategic roadmap for client authentication and authorization across all client touchpoints, aligning business goals with a secure and scalable client experience.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to evaluate, prioritize, and execute large-scale transformation initiatives within the digital identity space.
  • Provide thought leadership and domain expertise on emerging trends in authentication, including passwordless, multi-factor authentication (MFA), biometrics, identity federation, and risk-based access.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, synthesizing complex technical concepts into clear strategic direction.
  • Use data-driven insights to monitor performance, assess risk, and continuously improve the customer identity lifecycle.
  • Shape the governance framework for customer identity programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with global standards.
  • Influence technology investments, vendor partnerships, and build/buy strategies in collaboration with engineering and procurement teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of high-performing product professionals and collaborate across matrixed teams to deliver business value at scale.

What you have

Required:

  • 10+ years of work experience, including at least 7 years in strategy or digital product management roles
  • Experience with product management of customer identity and access management (CIAM)
  • Experience leading cross-enterprise initiatives
  • Experience and exposure working with senior leadership teams; strong executive presence
  • Direct reporting line people management experience required
  • Excellent PowerPoint and writing skills without the use of AI. Ability to create a range of slides from high-level messaging and positioning to conceptual diagrams and data visualizations. Must have a strong focus on formatting and attention to detail.
  • Great story-telling skills for framing presentations and creating and editing executive-level summaries
  • Able to coach and guide team members in practicing and building well-rounded Schwab product management and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build relationships and maintain a broad network to connect the dots on key initiatives throughout the organization and drive distributed work
  • Top notch organization skills to keep track of multiple deliverables and priorities, both short- and long-term, at the same time and coordinate supporting work across the team or other groups
  • Strong attention to detail and experience working with data

Preferred:

  • Financial services experience strongly preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
