At Schwab Workplace Services (WS). our mission is to provide an extraordinary experience for our plan sponsors and give their employees access to education and resources they can use to help transform their financial lives by introducing them to all Schwab has to offer.
Schwab believes Consultant Intermediary Partners are critical to the growth and success of our Workplace Services organization. The Director, Consultant Relations will be tasked with creating and executing a plan to drive additional opportunities for our sales team and help to retain existing clients. You will achieve these goals by engaging our consultant partners regarding both Schwab's overall offering, as well as helping in the retention of existing clients whom the consultants offer ongoing support. If you are passionate about serving our partners and clients in helping millions of people reach their financial goals, we are excited to consider you for our Team! You will be focused on building relationships with Consultants based mainly on the West Coast.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications
- Five years directly related work experience (in sales, retirement consulting and/or relationship management)
- Existing and/or the ability to create strong relationships with key consulting firms and their internal decision makers.
- In-depth knowledge of retirement plan markets and investment solutions
- Ability to communicate via multiple channels and build strong business relationships
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays, via air travel, train, and/or automobile to various states to attend meetings with key parties within assigned distribution channels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines
- Strong track record of achieving business development targets
- Ability and desire to help develop internal partners with talent development and training
- Ability to create a strategic business plan to drive new sales opportunities
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses required. A Condition of Employment may be considered for highly qualified candidates
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS
FINRA fingerprinting required as part of our background screening process.
100% telecommute is available for this position, ideally located in Pacific or Mountain time.
