Position Summary
The Student Recruitment and Outreach Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract and enroll prospective students to educational institutions. The Student Recruitment and Outreach Specialist works under the guidance of the Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager to facilitate student recruitment and outreach endeavors aimed at engaging a diverse array of prospective students. The role entails reaching out to various demographics, including elementary and middle school students, dual credit students, first-time freshmen, new and returning transfer students, and underserved populations, such as system-impacted individuals from foster care, incarcerated, or formerly incarcerated backgrounds.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists and maintains communication with prospective students throughout the admissions application and onboarding process; answers questions and conducts presentations for programs offered at the College utilizing customer service experience learned in any industry.
  • Promotes activities to enhance student enrollment and identifies, coordinates, and schedules on- and off-campus recruitment.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with staff and faculty to compile and disseminate current College information for recruitment and orientation purposes; and works closely with prospective students, parents, secondary and postsecondary schools, and community organizations in an effort to build, maintain, and grow professional relationships.
  • Responds to requests for information, conducts presentations, and performs data entry and retrieval working with the general public.
  • Maintains internal records and reports, including student recruitment and outreach activities among other required monthly reports.
  • May assist with organizing and conducting New Student Orientation presentations, developing new orientations, making updates or improvements for existing orientations, and working with the online platform that houses the online orientations.
  • Performs self-assessment and other related research for recruitment, outreach, and sales-related efforts.
  • Attends and supports various on- and off-campus events both recurring and as needed, including conducting campus tours.
  • Presents various written and oral presentations and other content to diverse groups, including potential students, employers, industry leaders, and various community stakeholder organizations.
  • Represents CNM and programs at public events, sometimes working outside the department's regular hours.
  • Participates on committees and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree AND Two (2) years related experience.
  • OR
  • Three to four (3 to 4) terms of directly related experience as a Student Ambassador within the Enrollment Management Student Success (EMSS) division

Preferences

  • Must include Cover Letter and Resume for application to be considered complete
  • Preference Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Shift Monday-Thursday 10am-7pm Friday 8am-5pm some Saturday work, flexibility to work at multiple campuses if needed
  • Best Consideration 8/26/25
