Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the HWPS Laboratory Manager, the Simulation Applications Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and maintenance of the HWPS simulation labs technology that support the College's learning environment. This includes coordinating ongoing maintenance and programming of the audio visual, learning management, simulation systems, and basic networks. Responding to technical support requests and handle warranty issues on equipment. Provides training and demonstrations on simulation lab equipment and manikins.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinator for Learning Space, Pyxis medication systems, high fidelity manikins, to include simulation software and physical systems.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, testing, technical development and interfacing with vendor technical support of simulation hardware and software.
  • Communicate with a diverse population regarding both technical and non-technical matters effectively in person and in writing.
  • Set up simulation equipment and other simulation technologies to meet the needs of faculty and students.
  • Provide technical assistance for faculty, staff, and simulation techs during simulation activities.
  • Act as a simulation tech and operate manikins and AV recording systems for simulations as needed.
  • Perform maintenance/repair of manikins and other lab equipment.
  • Perform support of the AV system, including camera resets/replacement, testing wired and wireless networks.
  • Identify and recommend to problems related to simulation equipment, computer hardware and software.
  • Initiates repairs for equipment under warranty.
  • Communicates with manufacturers regarding preventative maintenance, repairs, updates, and technology changes.
  • Remains current with technical and professional skills by attending human patient simulation conferences and training courses.
  • Meets and coordinates with the Simulation Education Specialist and faculty on a regular basis to discuss current issues and future technology needs.
  • Trains simulation staff on the operation of equipment.
  • Develops Quick-Guide reference aids for students, staff and faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or related field

AND

  • Two (2) years of experience and/or education related to the essential responsibilities, duties, knowledge, and skills listed.

Preferences:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with building and managing technology support ticketing systems.
  • Proficiency with operating, managing, and maintaining AVS technology systems.
  • Familiarity with Simulation learning applications and Learning Management Systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proficient understanding of the Simulation Technology tools used within the various academic disciplines taught at CNM, including high-fidelity manikins and simulators (Gaumard and Laerdal), Extended Reality tools and applications, development of virtual environments, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Simulation learning applications in Nursing, Allied Healthcare, Public Safety, and others.

Location: Primary work location is CNM Main Campus, with regular travel required between satellite campuses.

Hours: Ability to regularly work Monday- Friday during standard business hours of operations. Occasional flexibility will be required to meet instructional or operational needs.

  • Position is full-time, in-person/non-remote, 40 hr./week
