Position Summary
The New Student Orientation Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating orientation activities for new students to include but not limited to, dual credit students, first-time freshmen, new and returning transfer students, and international students, all in an effort to ensure students feel welcomed to the college and get a successful start in their college journey. This position develops and implements orientation schedules, activities, and events to ensure a smooth transition for new students. The Manager collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to provide necessary information and resources to incoming students and their families. The manager supervises a team of orientation staff and volunteers, ensuring that all aspects of the orientation program are well-organized and effectively delivered. The Manager NSO assesses the effectiveness of the orientation program and make recommendations for improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises, leads, and manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Identifies, directs, and assists the promotion of public affairs and strategic community outreach programs and sales-related efforts designed to introduce programs and collaborates with staff to identify and utilize subject matter experts.
- Maintains working relationships with program staff to compile and disseminate program information and a focus on recruiting students into programs.
- Plans, organizes and executes various on- and off-campus events both recurring and as needed, including scheduling and conducting campus tours.
- Maintains communication with prospective students throughout the admissions application and onboarding process.
- Produces and presents various written and oral presentations and other content to diverse groups, including potential students, employers, industry leaders, and various community stakeholder organizations.
- Works closely with academic departments, sales, program, and marketing teams to analyze, refine, and implement successful strategies to reach and recruit various populations into programs.
- Manages assigned areas of responsibility, which involve developing and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, secondary and postsecondary schools and community organizations.
- Assists with documentation and analysis of student recruitment and outreach efforts.
- Identifies and seeks out opportunities to collaborate with local companies and interest groups, increases partnership and creates a pipeline for recruitment and placement of program completers.
- Building networking relationships with industry stakeholders to create understanding and involvement at programmatic level to develop and maintain industry driven competencies.
- Plans, organizes and executes New Student Orientation presentations, develops new orientations, makes updates or improvements for existing orientations, and works with the online platform that houses the online orientations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' of combined experience in Sales, Marketing, Outreach, Higher Education, Public Relations, and/or Event Planning.
- OR
- Associates degree and four (4) years' experience in Sales, Marketing, Outreach, Higher Education, Public Relations, and/or Event Planning.
Preferences
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Salesforce knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
