Position Summary
Supports the daily requirements of the school; ensures labs are operational; provides assistance to students, faculty and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Hire, supervise and schedule work/study students.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in laboratories.
- Set up and maintain advanced equipment for experiments.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, cataloging, and storing tools and equipment.
- Monitor and manage lab budgets, including research and procurement proposals.
- Ensure availability of materials for instructors and assist in demonstrations.
- Guide students in safe equipment usage and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Assist instructors in evaluations, conduct lab tours, and ensure safety compliance.
- Oversee hiring, supervision, and scheduling of work/study students.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
- Provide technical support for computers, software, and related equipment.
- Support students in reviewing course material and problem-solving.
- Foster a supportive and cordial learning environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of thirty (30) hours of postsecondary course work
AND
- A minimum of nine (9) hours in the specific discipline; content courses must be completed with a grade of B or better
Preferences:
- An Associate's degree or higher in related discipline
- Experience in technical stagecraft or live production support.
- Familiarity with lighting, sound, and projection equipment used in theater productions
- Experience with physical construction of scenery and props.
- Prior work experience in a theater setting
- Experience with stage lighting systems, including: lighting design for small to mid-sized productions, programming and operation of lighting consoles, assembly and maintenance of conventional and LED fixtures.
- Experience with live sound systems, including: programming and operation of digital mixing consoles, microphone selection, setup and playback for live performances.
- Demonstrated proficiency in wood working and power tools, rigging systems for scenic construction.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment.
