Position Summary
Under the direct direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Executive Director Student Persistence & Completion is responsible for the strategic implementation of KPI's to increase student retention, persistence, and completion based on specific objectives and targets.

The Executive Director provides leadership and directly supervises the directors of Student Academic Advising (at all campuses and remote sites), TRIO Student Support Services (at Main and Montoya), Accessibility Services Center, and Learning & Tutoring Center.

The Executive Director works in collaboration with the divisional leadership, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, and the Executive Director of Student Life/Dean of Students. In addition, this person works in collaboration with teams, and divisions to ensure all learners are receiving information and guidance that positively supports learner success, retention, persistence, and graduation. This includes working across the enterprise supporting, strategic planning and accreditation teams, Academic Affairs, Deans Council, Transfer Office, Adult Basic Education/ESL and Workforce and Community Success Office, CNMI, and the College Foundation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and lead the strategic plan that outlines methods to achieve KPI objectives, goals, and targets with other leaders across the college community that positivity impacts Advisement, the student experience, and student persistence and increases student satisfaction in a diverse environment that promotes the belonging and inclusion of all learners.
  • Creates, oversees, and evaluates a comprehensive cluster of advisement supports and programs, services, and initiatives that positively impact student persistence and graduation.
  • Directs the activities of the department, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
  • Collaborates with other divisions, including academic schools and Ingenuity, to develop pipeline opportunities to improve and increase recruitment and enrollment.
  • Works with departments to leverage assets and increase technology and data utilization, including CRM and Office of Data Strategies.
  • Supervises and directs the department in developing, implementing, and evaluating new strategies to provide a vision for student enrollment and student success.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of and adherence to all the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Title II laws.
  • Creates and manages supportive, collaborative programs with WCS and external partners including but not limited to: community partners, national networks, governing bodies, local and national foundations, and contractors.
  • Serves as Principal Investigator on grant projects (Single Moms Success Grant and future assigned grants) including budget management, and reporting.
  • Leads internal and external committees on various initiatives to support the College's strategic goals, the Student Information System, and Complete College America work on transfer learners.
  • Participates in developing campus-wide policies and procedures maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Oversees departmental budgets and ensures department directors manage their budgets appropriately.
  • Coordinates with divisional leadership on all budget processes related to the department.
  • Utilizes quality improvement methodologies while assessing and implementing changes to internal processes that impact student retention and graduation.
  • Facilitates vision and goal setting for the Enrollment Management and Student Success division.
  • Cultivates relationships and partnerships that nurture the College's diverse student, staff, and faculty populations.
  • Models and builds dynamic partnerships within the College to help break down internal silos among divisions, schools, departments and campuses.
  • Build a data-driven and informed culture within the division that highlights strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) for the areas you supervise.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifcations:

  • Master's degree
  • AND
  • Five (5) years of related experience with at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
