Position Summary
Assists and provides guidance to students and completers, providing employment consultation and transitional job placement services. Utilizes robust relationships that have been established by the college with employers to ensure successful placements with good career pathway opportunities for economic self-sufficiency. Provides positive, individualized services to students and completers with documented case notes that reflect services provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilizes data and analyzes student qualifications in order to match students to career jobs for career transition services and conducting placement activities.
- Identifies potential jobs, military, or other training program placements for completing students and conduct career readiness activities and relevant career information and career resources to students across institution's academic programs.
- Maintains placement data and metrics through case managed follow-up on completed students.
- Meets job placement quota for completers to meet the college's established objectives and goals; verify and document all placements according to requirements.
- Monitors the employability development of students assigned to caseload and prepare job placement reports.
- Provides leadership in student career readiness programs and activities.
- Guides students/completers through career transition, direction, and/or management.
- Effectively use strategies that may involve reviewing and analyzing the student's post-secondary education, qualifications, skills, abilities, employment history, and objectives.
- Offers customized case management to students/completers designed to get employment including but not limited to customized practice interviews designed for specific careers.
- Oversees, develops, and maintains job placement success metrics and KPI's.
- Utilizes Career Services Management System to optimize student/completer job placement numbers.
- Provides occupational coaching and referral services to students and completers seeking employment.
- Designs, curates, publishes and updates course and modules in CNM's current Learning Management System concerning résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, LinkedIn profile creation/utilization, job search, professionalism and strategies, and other topics as requested by stakeholders.
- Responsible for specialized programs and events relating to job placement, such as applicant liaison, application review, selection processes, and customer service initiatives as well as builds, distributes, and standardizes employment advisement forms, guidelines, processes, and policies.
- Oversee the hiring process for Career Assistants, including advertising positions, conducting interviews, and onboarding successful candidates, while efficiently managing schedules and providing comprehensive training to ensure their readiness in delivering exceptional support to students and graduates.
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
AND
- Two (2) years of related experience including experience providing formal instruction
Preferences:
- Holds a nationally recognized career development certificate. Examples: Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and/or NACE Career Coach Certification.
- Master's degree in related area. Work experience in a secondary or post-secondary environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment skills and issues including resumes, interviewing and job search methods and techniques.
