Position Summary
Under supervision from the Senior Director of Operations, the Associate Director will have primary facility responsibility and will manage and supervise the Operations team. This position leads, directs the tracking, management, and optimization of inventory across CNMI programs and campuses, advises and assists with projects. The Associate Director coordinates with faculty from across the campus on facility use. Own all aspects of contract management for CNMI. Participates in an annual budgeting process and monitors budgets monthly. This position may provide creative and strategic leadership for the redesign and renovation of student-driven, interdisciplinary programs that include a variety of digital and technical tools.
Duties & Responsibilities

Primary:

• Acts as CNMI's Contract Manager, overseeing the entire contract lifecycle management process, including drafting, negotiation, execution, amendment, and closeout.

• Collaborates with internal stakeholders, both CNMI and CNM, to ensure contract terms align with business goals and policies, compliance (federal, state, and local) requirements, and risk tolerance.

• Maintains organized contract records and develops standard templates, procedures, and best practices.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and legal risks.

• Oversees planning and implementation of equipment maintenance.

• Coordinates physical inventories and routine cycle counts across departments; reconciles discrepancies and documents adjustments.

• Collaborates with departments such as Finance, Procurement, Facilities, ITS, and CNMI to forecast needs and ensure timely replacement.

• Oversees proper and safe storage, labeling, security, and disposition of inventory items.

• Documents procedures for equipment use and works with site managers to develop safety procedures.

• Creates and maintains a repository where all procedures may be readily accessed, including making sure written copies are available.

• Supervises hiring, scheduling, training, mentoring, and managing staff.

• Organizes training based on employee needs or new user requests.

Secondary:

• Facilitates hands-on projects with students; team-teach with classroom teachers.

• Create opportunities and programming, including partnering with outside organizations and experts.

• Develops vision for future capabilities, develops commensurate funding proposals to support that vision.

• Ensures safe and efficient operation of labs and simulators during open hours and classes.

• Maintains a presence on social media according to Ingenuity standards.

• Schedules space utilization by classes.

• Updates Names in Frames as related to space (Where People Sit) at all CNMI Campuses

• Organizes outreach activities involving CNM Ingenuity employees.

• Travels to various events to promote Ingenuity capabilities.

• Provides backup technician support for other departments as required.

• Acts as the principal investigator over multiple grants within multiple program areas.

• Leads CNM strategic initiatives as a team lead or team member, which may include contributing to agreed pathways for non-credit to credit, credit for prior learning, pre and full apprentice, internship, process development, and programming.

• Include building community partnerships and increasing community outreach. Serves as a connector between constituents and resources liaising with the entrepreneurship groups and provide guidance and counsel when appropriate.

• Oversee the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future earnings or expenses. Provided projection and financial year plans. Manages contract, grant, and/or state funding; approves and monitors budget expenditures; prepares budget revisions; provides interim status reports on all accounts; oversees, coordinates, and/or assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding.

• Prepares monthly analytics of program enrollment, revenue, and expenses.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in a related field AND Seven (7) years of related experience

Experience includes:

  • Progressive with Contract Lifecycle management
  • 3-5 Years of inventory or asset management

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related field and five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional customer orientation
  • Lean/DMAIC, Six Sigma or other process improvement training
