Location: Preston Service Centre

Reports To: Transport Team Leader

Salary: £23,648.48

Hours 40 per week

Job Purpose:

To perform general administrative duties associated with the transport department.

All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 68/01) which is reflected in our SOP - REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. It will be a requirement for all staff to be trained in this SOP and have an annual refresher. All other GDP training will be job specific and as per your personal training matrix

Key Accountabilities

Operating Standards

  • To achieve agreed productivity levels in specified areas.
  • To check and amend driver payment system according to procedures.
  • To observe all third party distribution procedures and associated paperwork.
  • To file all servicing/repair documentation relating to plated vehicles by vehicle.
  • To file all tachographs on a weekly basis by driver - retain for 12 months.
  • To complete any relevant department control paperwork as required.
  • To process and report on all mileage and fuel usage data.
  • To communicate any identified issues with line management.
  • To meet all Health & Safety requirements.
  • To ensure housekeeping is to agreed standards at all times.
  • To look after and maintain the PCs in the Transport Department and report any faults.
  • To monitor, log and control UDG procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • High visual accuracy
  • Excellent Numeracy and Literacy
  • Time Management skills
  • Experience of computer system use and data input

Desirable

• Knowledge of basic transport procedures and controls

  • Health and Safety requirements within a warehouse/transport environment

MANUAL HANDLING

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are "essential requirements" of this role.

Regular liaison with Fleet Admin, National Distribution and Customer Service Departments, Warehouse Management and other employees within and outside the Service Centre.

Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised at times.
