What you will be doing

Responsible for managing complex programs with multiple cross team integration points using multiple methodologies. Manages program schedules, cost and quality proactively making recommendations within the program objectives. Leverages technical knowledge, best practices and organizational dynamics to remove impediments and mitigate issues and risks. Mentors others on agile and project management methodology. Drives toward continuous improvement.

  • Manages sub-project dependencies and program constructs.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of how agile and waterfall frameworks work to deliver business value and how various practices can and should evolve.
  • Can identify the appropriate level of granularity that satisfies visibility and control needs.
  • Articulates complex schedules and inter-dependencies in a consumable way for stakeholders.
  • Works within multiple methodologies to develop a comprehensive schedule.
  • Monitors future work to proactively adjust plan and resources, focuses and looks for trends to foresee scheduling challenges.
  • Identifies, solicits and documents specific project risk/impediments at initiation using various modes and questioning techniques.
  • Proactively identifies, documents, and communicates risks throughout the project lifecycle, including gaining project stakeholder agreement.
  • Collects effort estimates and understands available capacity to derive accurate durations.
  • Responsible for the planning and facilitation of standard meetings to include backlog preparation, iteration planning, retrospectives, iteration reviews and daily stand-ups.
  • Recommends deviations from the standard process and gain consensus from stakeholders.
  • Provides all qualitative and quantitative status updates in the context of the project's critical success criteria and overall goals.
  • Identifies, solicits and documents specific project risks and impediments at initiation using various modes and questioning techniques.
  • Addresses quality issues directly with the team and communicates proactively with the stakeholders on long-term resolution.

What your background should look like

  • 7+ years of IT work experience, including 6 or more years managing projects and at least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing large scale IT infrastructure deployments, upgrades and integrations leveraging waterfall methodology including networks, storage, endpoints, m365, AV rooms (Teams), Azure.
  • Experience managing IT integration activities as part of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Equally comfortable at program and project level.
  • Experience building and managing programs with multiple parallel workstreams - defining workstreams, consolidating workstream status into program status consumable at the executive level, managing program level steering committee.
  • Experience with detailed budgeting and financial tracking and the project and consolidated program level.
  • 3+ years of Agile/SAFe experience preferred.
  • Related certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems or Engineering; or equivalent work experience.
  • Agile and waterfall methodologies, values, and procedures knowledge.
  • Experience working with large scale, technically complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Relevant business software (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Clarity, MS Project, Team Foundation Server, Jira).
  • Possesses the ability to balance a willingness to engage with ideas different from their own, encouragement of others to express divergent perspectives, the capability to influence, conflict management, and teamwork.
  • Highly adaptable to changing environment. Situational awareness of when to listen and when to be assertive.
  • Preferred Certifications: Certified Scrum Master, Google Analytics Certification, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, SAFe Agile Certification.
  • Technical Skills: Agile Architecture, Delivery, Data Management, DevOps, Information Systems, Software Development Life Cycle, Workflow Management.
  • Tools Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Technology Stack (C#, SQL Server), Oracle 8i or 10g, Programming Languages like JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, SQL, Project Management Support Tools - Clarity, Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Web Content Management Systems (WCMS) - SAP hybris preferred.
