What you will be doing

This role is responsible for working closely with other teams to understand requirements and define, deploy, and improve testing environments at each stage of software development life cycle. Engineers II implement quality assurance objectives and processes, monitor and evaluate testing results against the predetermined objectives, and apply recommended actions for improvements. They work on medium to complex testing tasks within multiple development environments and needing multiple areas of testing technology competency. They assist in translating the functional requirements into designing testing environments, making test plans including technical and monitoring quality KPIs. They also troubleshoot medium complexity software quality issues and ensure testing is done as per plan.

  • Assists in evaluating testability of business and technical requirements based on business/functional requirement document, use cases, user stories and/or solution design documents.
  • Provides feedback on the target technical specifications from testability and feasibility point of view.
  • Evaluates quality of business requirements for medium to large projects based on Business Requirement Document (BRD), use cases and/or solution design documents.
  • Supports and helps establish systems environment standards, and quality parameters and targets.
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to create a structured project test plan for all functional and technical system components, and defines assumptions, risks and user acceptance criteria.
  • Assists in coding and documenting custom testing frameworks and requirement traceability matrix.
  • Assists with setup and maintenance of test environments for quality engineering (manual, automated and performance)
  • Leverages automated testing suites, explores edge cases and drives quality with development teams.
  • Gathers test result data, assigns severity levels to issues, and documents accurate system response.
  • Performs initial analysis of defects, conducts root cause analysis, and escalates issues as per protocols.
  • Establishes processes and tool sets to maintain automation scripts and generates regular test reports for faster bug tracking and rapid reporting.

What your background should look like

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in system/software quality and testing.
  • Direct, Hands-On Experience with Installing/Configuring/Maintaining Test Tools and Infrastructure
  • Coding experience creating custom integrations between tools.
  • Installing, Configuring, Maintaining, and Optimizing Test Tooling (LoadRunner, Tosca, Etc)
  • Builds new Frameworks, Identifies Opportunities to Improve Test Delivery
  • Completes Proof-Of-Concepts for new Tools, Analyzes Test Tooling Capabilities
  • Works Hand-In-Hand with Vendors and External partners to Remediate Issues with Test Tooling
  • Configuring Servers, Submitting Firewall Requests, and complete other Infrastructure Tasks to support Test Delivery
  • Building assets in Azure, configuring and managing virtual infrastructure in the Cloud
  • Keep up to date with the latest testing tools, technologies and best practices.
