Opportunity
Cencora is currently looking to appoint a Compliance & Privacy Officer in Central Eastern Europe (CEE). The role will ideally be based in Romania but other locations will be considered. This leader will serve in a senior position within the Office of Compliance to develop, implement and maintain an effective compliance programme, with a particular focus on operations within Romania, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland.

The position is responsible for providing support to the VP & Senior Compliance Officer and across CEE to ensure compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures and for establishing policies and standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the Compliance & Privacy Programs are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Candidates for the role will ideally have experience working in large multinational companies; s/he will need to be a self-starter with the ability to embed and inculcate a compliance culture into the CEE organisations, whilst partnering closely with the global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Office of Compliance and Privacy Operations team by developing and maintaining effective compliance and privacy programmes for the Corporation and updates those programmes as necessary and in a timely manner.
- Drafts and/or oversees the development of policies and procedures to support effective compliance and programmes and compliance with all statutes, regulations and written directives applicable to the Corporation and its various business units.
- Maintains a good understanding and level of knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory compliance and privacy requirements and rules and regulations applicable to the Corporation ,including but not limited to FCPA, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, GDPR and AI regulations.
- Provides guidance, advice and/or training and educational programmes to improve employees' understanding of laws and regulatory requirements applicable to their functions.
- Liaises with executives regarding specific compliance and privacy questions, policies, & sensitive investigations. Leads investigations into suspected breaches of privacy or non-compliance incidents. Documents findings accurately and provides recommendations for corrective actions as required by applicable regulations.
- Monitors the implementation of the compliance and privacy programmes, including assistance with privacy impact assessment, transfer impact assessments and data subject access requests.
- Prepares clear and concise compliance reports for management and VP & Senior Compliance Officer.
- Reviews and evaluates changes in corporate compliance and privacy regulations, policies, procedures and practices.
- Participates as a member on internal committees related to compliance and privacy
What your background should look like
Key Requirements
The Compliance & Privacy Officer will have knowledge of laws, regulations and written directives applicable to the business operations of the Corporation, including, but not limited to, associated regulation across CEE and broad experience in fields such as law, regulatory compliance, business administration and healthcare and privacy policy and programme requirements. The jobholder will ideally have experience in the fields of regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or distribution or related expertise. Experience of working within a multinational is a prerequisite.

- Strong leadership skills; ability to effectively supervise and manage others;
- Excellent logical, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve associated issues effectively and efficiently;
- Excellent organisational, motivational and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent project management skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Powerpoint;

Educational background
You have a higher education, some years of relevant work experience in areas such as compliance, law, quality work, internal auditing or risk management, and good knowledge of data protection regulations.
