The Team:

The Employment Law, Privacy, Ethics & Compliance Team is part of the Legal & Trust Organization. Your role will help Celonis comply with global data privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and various topics related to Celonis’ Ethics & Compliance Program. Together we work hard to help Celonis build and maintain the trust of our employees, customers & partners. We are responsible for the company’s Code of Conduct & Ethics and key policies, which apply to our global operations.

The Role:

As Privacy, Ethics & Compliance Manager, you will support and contribute to Celonis’ global Privacy and Ethics & Compliance Programs. You will advise the business on best practices and work cross-functionally to identify, evaluate, navigate and mitigate critical risks, in order to achieve business goals. You will discover  innovative, efficient, best practice approaches and guide their implementation. You will build meaningful relationships to influence ethical business practices and compliance standards throughout the company.

The work you’ll do:

  • Write, update and implement policies, notices, guidelines, FAQs whitepapers, and other materials for privacy and ethics & compliance topics
  • Handle employee, customer and third-party queries
  • Analyze and monitor key changes to privacy, anti-corruption, and other important compliance related laws, regulations, industry standards and best practices in the countries within which we operate.
  • Handle personal Data Breaches, Data Subject Requests, and conduct Privacy by Design Checks
  • Write, develop and deliver innovative training, communications and other engagement materials to support awareness of important privacy and ethics & compliance related topics
  • Assist with internal and external audits. Assist with investigations program, including interviews, reports, and updates to our case management system
  • Conduct assessments, identify risks, define mitigation strategies, track and monitor key performance indicators, and report to management
  • Manage ethics programs on topics such as sanctions checks, conflicts of interest, and gifts and entertainment
  • Coordinate and Project Manage initiatives and programs. Use automation, AI and other innovation to create and streamline processes and activities

The qualifications you need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in law, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/EU) are a plus
  • 5+ years of working experience in the area of compliance, risk management, legal, or internal audit, with at least 3 of those years in a role with a high focus on data privacy, preferably in a multinational company
  • Proven ability to develop and implement compliance programs with the ability to translate policies into actionable guidance to the business, as well as demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR and familiarity with other privacy regulations outside of Europe
  • Business acumen, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Fluent English communication skills, oral and written; German is a plus (Please apply with your English CV/resume)

  • Proven ability to project manage through change.
