This position is in Cargill's food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Capital Project Engineer will plan, coordinate and monitor internal projects from initiation through completion. In this role you will coordinate and direct activities of fixed duration to ensure that the goals or objectives are accomplished within the determined timeframe and budget.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute strategies to develop assigned projects in areas such as edible oil refining/manufacturing and packaging.
  • Monitor project progress, assess issues and recommend resolutions to meet productivity, quality and stakeholder or customer goals and objectives.
  • Review status of projects and budgets, coordinate schedules, and prepare status reports.
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of assigned projects.
  • Drive and support integration of, and adherence to, corporate and legal requirements in the design and construction of new facilities, processes, equipment, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with regional domain leads for domain specific expertise support in build projects. Develop engineering for small projects and lead engineering for major projects, where applicable.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate leadership team members.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in engineering or operations with challenging environmental health and safety aspects.
  • Experience managing third party resources to deliver business results.
  • Knowledge of the company's environmental health and safety standards and international standards and codes related to build projects and construction safety.
  • Previous experience with construction, commissioning, and startup of capital projects
