This position is in Cargill's agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Grain Associate will help sell the company's portfolio of both technical and non-technical products, services, and solutions directly to current and new customers. This will focus on agricultural commodities such as wheat, barley, and canola. In this role, you will develop an understanding of Cargill's business operations, products, and services and how they fit into the challenges and dynamics of the Western Canadian grain industry.
Key Accountabilities
- Shadow and support senior grain origination representatives and grain advisory representatives in their day-to-day duties, to learn and develop the skillset required to do either of these roles.
- Inform customers of our new products, services and prices.
- Help support development and delivery of sales bids, proposals and presentations and help conduct product demonstrations.
- Build, monitor and revise lead generation plans to develop substantive sales opportunities.
- Help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions.
- Build, develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma/certificate or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Possess a valid, full Canadian Driver's Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with agricultural commodity markets and the grain industry
- Previous experience in agriculture
- Willing and able to relocate within Central Alberta in the future to support career growth and advancement
