Job Purpose and Impact
- The Credit Risk Analyst, focuses on evaluating credit risk profiles of corporations and assessing potential credit exposures arising from physical commodity trading business, including OTC derivatives. You will join a global team of risk professionals in Risk Management Group (RMG), whose mandate is to manage market and credit risks while partnering with business stakeholders on maximizing risk-adjusted returns.
Key Accountabilities
- COUNTERPARTY ANALYSIS: Performs financial statement data input and analysis of counterparties including assignment of ratings and written evaluations of counterparty strengths, weaknesses and financial conditions and provides an assessment on repayment ability.
- COUNTERPARTY RESEARCHING & MONITORING: Conducts stress tests and market research and monitors counterparties and markets in anticipation of potential negative impacts.
- RISK MANAGEMENT: Partners to develop understanding the credit risk profile of physical and derivatives trades and support objective risk related inputs on products as well as recommendations of opportunities for risk mitigation and loss prevention.
- RISK MONITORING: Supports close communication with transaction management to ensure adequate implementation of risk mitigation and ensure accurate reporting of exposures within approved limits.
- PROCESS EXCELLENCE & IMPROVEMENT: Prepares and handles reports, ensuring strong and accurate reporting standards and assists in ad hoc projects to actively seek ideas to improve existing processes and methodologies.
- BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: Supports communication with internal and external counterparties to build and maintain positive relationships, facilitate smooth transactions and ensure mutual understanding and clarity in business dealings.
- DUE DILIGENCE: Partners with origination, structuring, legal and senior team members to ensure high quality of due diligence on counterparties and responds to queries from internal collaborators.

Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more overall work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Practical experience and knowledge in dealing with commodity and/or derivatives trades in China
• Ability to work with large amount of data or have prior experience in data analytics
• CFA or FRM certified would be an advantage, but not essential
• Prior experience in credit recommendations and approvals would be an advantage, but not essential
