As a Director within TPRM you will be responsible for the oversight of the third party policy requirements and risk processes that support our technology services and third party Information Assurance processes. Our third party framework and requirements are core to how we provide effective challenge and oversight to our business partners. Directors at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow the Risk Manager to gain insights and act as a change agent to influence business partners. As Capital One evolves to meet the ever changing landscape, so do our Directors. Responsibilities include oversight of a team responsible for the following:

  • Oversight and challenge of the risk and controls defined for third party technology across the third party lifecycle
  • Play a supporting role in identifying third party requirements for technology and cyber third party processes, including effective challenge and risk-informed recommendations.
  • Develop requirements and oversight for the use of Fintech third parties and other key third party technology governance processes
  • Enhance the third party framework to account for the use and monitoring of GenAI
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders on an enhanced playbook for third party cyber incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Understanding the emerging digital resiliency rules (e.g. Digital Operational Resilience Act), the third party requirements, and impacts to third party risk programs across the enterprise
  • Key thought partner on key third party emerging enterprise-level risk management approaches.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve objectives.
  • Coordinate program-related activities and deliverables to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups.
  • This role requires the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in clear, concise, actionable manner through both written products and verbal communications.
  • Oversee data-driven, risk-based analysis, starting with problem identification or hypothesis development

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in third party technology, cybersecurity operations or governance oversight
  • At least 5 years of Financial Services Risk Management Experience
  • At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
  • At least 2 year of experience producing executive level reporting and analysis
  • At least 1 year experience in policy management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exude a strong business acumen
  • Be able to produce executive level decks with insights and recommendations
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills, fostering positive working relationships with business partners
  • Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), or other applicable risk certifications
