Senior Writer - Institutional Retirement

As a Senior Writer, you will be a member of Capital Group's broader Marketing team. You will collaborate with our investment professionals and other internal stakeholders to produce creative, customized content for the Institutional Retirement segment of our business - focusing on defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) plans, and on equity and fixed income products for the institutional marketplace. You will work with Sales, Product and Marketing to promote our institutional strategies, thought leadership and client solutions capabilities to our sophisticated audience of consultants, plan sponsors and corporate CIOs. This content can include white papers, web articles, social posts, videos, webinar scripts, presentations and emails.

Utilizing your knowledge of equity and fixed income markets and your experience in the institutional arm of the asset management industry, you will help create content showcasing the custom analyses we prepare for large retirement plans on topics like asset allocation, investment selection and employees' retirement readiness. You will collaborate with stakeholders to produce thought leadership on broader DB and DC topics. You will use your familiarity with the types of equity and fixed income products within the institutional marketplace to help promote our investment strategies and capabilities.

You can manage multiple projects simultaneously from end-to-end: understanding the audience, developing the story, and working with stakeholders to meet their needs.

  • You have a bachelor's degree, with an emphasis on marketing, economics, finance, journalism or a related field.
  • You have strong foundational knowledge of financial markets and the financial services industry, and have written a significant amount of content on these topics.
  • You have significant experience in the asset management industry working with stakeholders to create product and thought leadership content, preferably for institutional audiences including consultants and large DB and DC plans.
  • You have a portfolio of financial-services editorial content that exemplifies superb writing skills and the ability to distill and synthesize complex ideas into clear prose.
  • You have strong analytical and research skills - having used data to help create compelling charts and infographics,
  • You have an interest in being part of a marketing and sales organization, you are eager to learn about our products, marketing strategy and the needs of our audiences.
  • You thrive in team settings and have worked previously with stakeholders to develop content on products and/or trends in the asset management industry.
  • You are digitally savvy. You have good understanding of digital tools and channels, such as social media, search and content marketing.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $131,596-$210,554

New York Base Salary Range: $139,498-$223,197

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
