As a Senior Data Engineer, you will contribute to a CG-designed and operated Quantitative Portfolio Construction Platform that generates trade recommendations and associated analytics to align an investment vehicle portfolio with a reference portfolio. This alignment is based on a risk model, quantitative optimization strategy, and portfolio restrictions. Additionally, you will provide leadership in defining an operational data storage model and oversee data warehousing operations to maintain historical analytical data. Your work will involve complex data pipelines and big data platforms hosted in the cloud. You'll also explore innovative ways to operate and support complex data delivery solutions. Furthermore, your contributions will drive operational excellence through leadership, rigorous analysis, continuous improvement, and informed decisions that reduce friction and enhance reliability.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another technical field
  • You have at least 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • You have advanced quantitative experience such as business intelligence, big data platforms, reporting, analytics, and database development, which demonstrate your ability to support and operate complex technical solutions.
  • You have a strong background in backend system architecture patterns and technologies such as: (Modern distributed systems design patterns, Microservices and Serverless design paradigms), (SQL/ NOSQL databases), (RESTful APIs, cloud-based/enterprise-grade message brokers or streaming platforms), (Container orchestration systems (Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • You have advanced knowledge of technical and functional designs for SQL, databases (Microsoft SQL Server), ETL (PySpark/EMR), data pipelines, data warehousing (Data Bricks), data lakes (Delta Lake), and data modeling
  • You have demonstrated understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms (AWS Certification is a plus)
  • Data warehouse experience using STAR schema as well as Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake etc.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $166,551-$266,482

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
