As a Platform Engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to be part of enterprise-wide information technology programs designed to provide foundation capabilities upon which business applications, services, and solutions are securely developed, deployed and operated.
In this role you will be part of the pipeline as a product team, engineering capabilities across the SDLC / DevOps lifecycle and enabling internal customers to successfully leverage Capital Group's cloud ecosystem. Your customers will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions.
You will be part of a product aligned portfolio, leveraging Agile frameworks to deliver on designs and development of platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and robust platform solutions.
- Develop and maintain enterprise grade CI/CD solutions as part of cloud platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with software and platform engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality features.
- Optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Setup and optimize monitoring of the platform, and troubleshoot platform issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Pursue self-service, automation capabilities and solutions to reduce development cycle-time.
- Partners alongside security, risk and compliance teams to understand and ensure systems and solutions protect the Enterprise.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our platform.
- Perform root cause analysis on incident and problem tickets. Recommend path to improvement.
- Demonstrate technical leadership skills to drive the team to results.

- You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- You have 10+ years experience building large scale, robust platform solutions with emphasis on coding, problem-solving, and design skills. Experience designing/developing API's and microservices.
- You have 10+ years experience and deep understanding of SDLC and DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines.
- You have a mastery and hands-on experience with Docker container and Kubernetes/EKS orchestration, and related deployment best practices such as GitOps, Helm, Image Signing.
- You have hands-on experience applying DevOps best practices using tools of the CI/CD and SDLC ecosystem - Harness preferred, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Nexus.
- You have hands-on experience in Infrastructure design and are proficient in IaC tools and technologies - Terraform preferred.
- You have hands-on experience of script languages - Bash, Python, Shell preferred.
- You possess a good understanding of security services such as SSO, SAML, OAUTH, etc. API Development with a focus on product integrations, automated testing and stable contracts
- You have a strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code.
- You have experience writing test automation and unit tests, as well as performing integration testing across multiple product integrations. Experience using QTest is nice to have.
- Your skills also include knowledge and working with Observability platforms like Splunk, Datadog, Grafana
- You have familiarity with Internal Developer Platforms such as Spotify Backstage.
- You possess the skills to administer and troubleshoot in DevOps/Deployment.
- Proficient technical documentation skills, with emphasis on High-Level and Low-Level Design.
- You have a strong desire to lead, mentor and contribute to a culture of excellence.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You possess strong communication and collaboration skills.

New York Base Salary Range: $163,212-$261,139
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
