Payroll Accountant Senior

As a Sr. Payroll Accountant, you'll be a key member of our North America payroll team managing complex multi-state payroll. You'll process and transmit payroll for one or more companies across Capital Group to ensure our associates are being paid accurately and timely. Every day, you'll engage with associates by answering their questions about the salary, tax withholding, or general questions about their compensation. You'll partner closely with our compensation, benefits, and global data management team and others from the payroll team to ensure the day-to-day operations are moving smoothly. To thrive in this role, you've handled bi-weekly payroll processing for large complex multi-state/international organizations, have a bachelor's degree, and experience with large payroll providers.

  • You have a successful track record in a senior payroll accounting role within a multi-state/international company with a strong working knowledge of payroll processing, tax withholding and state unemployment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail has always been your thing. You're highly observant and can spot missing and/or inaccurate information to avoid costly mistakes.
  • You're a skilled communicator and thrive in team settings by being authentic, inquisitive, respectful and engaging. Because of your great questions, you're skilled at successful follow-up conversations.
  • You exercise good judgement and have a process for managing competing priorities. You are totally comfortable when priorities shift, and you manage change with steadfast composure.
  • You're a tech-savvy problem solver. You can research and resolve customer questions quickly, working across multiple systems throughout the day.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products, especially Excel. You have experience with payroll applications, preferably Dayforce.
  • You are curious and analytical. You enjoy the challenge of finding an answer, figuring a difficult problem.

Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $84,894-$135,830

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
