Fixed Income Portfolio Analysis Analyst/ Senior Analyst

  • Assists with the construction of portfolios based on investment convictions communicated by fixed income investment professionals. Prepares and reviews orders based on analysis of portfolios and sends to investment professionals for review.
  • Actively monitors portfolio risk metrics by generating reports and creating models to support the investment professionals' decision making.
  • Coordinates the New Issue (NI) order activity between Trading, Fixed Income Investment Group and Global Investment Control.
  • Reviews day-to-day activity for client accounts and funds. Implements asset allocation, currency, and duration hedging for portfolios. Monitors cash inflows/outflows between investment professionals and accounts. Assists with new account start-ups and account closures. Conducts analysis and proposes options for restructuring portfolios.
  • Serves as a resource for Investment Group, Trading and other GIC Fixed Income teams or business units on portfolio construction inquiries or cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Partners with CFII to implement the strategic portfolio construction decisions made by the Capital Solutions Group.
  • May lead or participate in team and departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Identifies process improvement opportunities, gaps, and controls.
  • Provides solutions in the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborates with management to establish project plan, identifies, and assesses impacts, and communicates updates to managers and stakeholders.
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of new portfolio structures and initiatives. Partners with IO teams to design end to end processes. Collaborates with various CG teams to troubleshoot systems issues.
  • Participates in the training of newer associates.

    • Demonstrates ability to be self-driven to understand how and why things work, the financial industry and/or the connections between processes and technology.
    • Demonstrates a working knowledge of Fixed Income, Fixed Income Portfolio Analysis Group functions, portfolio implementation and compliance functions, policies, procedures and systems and ability to apply them to work assignments.
    • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the functionalities and operational intersections of Global Investment Control and Capital Group.
    • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the securities and investment business and Capital's investment process and ability to apply to work assignments.
    • Demonstrates effective and influential written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders and the Investment Group.

    In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
