ESG - Client & Stakeholder Engagement Senior Analyst

The ESG Client & Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) team's overarching goal is to act as the internal SME on Capital Group's approach to ESG, partnering with other teams around the business to meet client, regulatory and other stakeholder needs. This includes developing market-leading ESG content and messaging and bringing insights on ESG industry and regulatory developments to the team and organization. The team has responsibility for:

  • ESG input into responses to regulators, industry-level reporting (including the PRI, TCFD, UK Stewardship Code) and ownership for firm, fund and client-level ESG content, including our ESG policy statement.
  • Working with product teams across the firm, translating client and regulatory needs in ESG into successful solutions for our clients, and advising the broader business as a key point of contact on ESG matters.
  • Supporting the development of tools and capabilities to enable other parts of the organization to 'self-serve' on ESG.

The Senior Analyst works collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and ESG team, supporting and building trusted and effective relationships and making a valued contribution across the programme of work undertaken by the CSE team. They are expected to blend an ability to draft content with a solid understanding of the asset management industry and a demonstrable commitment to ESG. They also have an awareness of existing and emerging ESG regulation and will be able to demonstrate strong quantitative skills. You will: -

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of ESG market-facing materials and content at both the fund and firm level, including sales resources, gathering business and data requirements for new and evolving content.
  • In partnership with Product Specialists, support the production of compelling case studies illustrating our approach to ESG and that support client and industry level reporting.
  • Contribute to and support specified industry reporting and policy initiatives. This includes gathering, compiling and auditing of data required for regulatory and other external reporting.
  • Help support ESG-related relationships with industry bodies, attending external events and conferences, sharing insights internally.
  • Participate in project execution with key partners across various topics; support and build relationships with partners on core deliverables & business initiatives across areas such as our Sales, Marketing, Investment Operations, Legal and Technology teams.

  • You have experience working within the financial services/investment management industry, and can demonstrate working knowledge of the ESG market and competitor landscape in this context.
  • You possesses strong ESG subject matter expertise with a willingness to develop this further.
  • Your strong data literacy and quantitative skills support a solid understanding of ESG data types and sources.
  • You are able to draw upon effective written and oral communication skills, both written and oral, when engaging with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders.
  • You are process oriented with a demonstrable ability to lead and manage projects within the team, with a strong ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner.
  • You are action oriented, taking initiative in identifying issues and conflicts in a timely manner, recommending solutions and escalating to senior team members as needed. You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity, with excellent attention to detail.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
