Translate business needs into effective network architecture, recommending hardware, software, and design strategies

  • Ensure compliance by reviewing documentation and collaborating with other teams

  • Manage configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, and wireless access points, with attention to protocol compatibility, system tuning, and performance enhancement

  • Evaluate and recommend new products while staying updated on emerging technologies

  • Proactively monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and offer improvement suggestions

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and devising resolution protocols

  • Assume Project Leader role for enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Strategize infrastructure equipment replacement, adhering to security standards and ensuring timely system updates

  • Collaborate with Information Security Teams on firewall rules and Payment Card Industry compliance

  • Plan, implement, and forecast various network systems of moderate complexity, managing resource requirements effectively

  • Document technology solutions, network configurations, and insights from monitoring and management tools

  • Active participation in team projects, meetings, and assignments

  • Mentor junior staff on patch management, network management, fault identification, and data/telecom access

  • Ensure accurate incident tracking and asset management through service desk ticketing and department inventory control systems

  • Create, update, and maintain documentation related to network performance monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Travel to remote locations to provide support, as needed

  • Participate in after-hours (evening & weekend) on-call rotation and escalation

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • What You'll Need

    Required:

    • 7 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in network operations, support, maintenance, and administration

    • 3 years enterprise networking experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Institute Degree/Certificate in Information Systems or related fields

    • Cisco certifications in Network Professional, Design Professional, Security Professional, and Voice Professional domains

    • Possess expertise in end-to-end network infrastructure, including DMARC to workstations, fiber distribution, routers, switches, DHCP, and topology, ensuring excellent Quality of Service (QoS)

    • Extensive experience with HPE/Aruba Switching products, including capacity and risk assessment, contingency planning, and lifecycle management

    • Must know the OSI model and how it pertains to the flow of data throughout the environment

    • Deep understanding of networking design and implementation

    • Proficiency with enterprise networking hardware

    • Cloud networking experience

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving experience

    • Effective communication, collaboration, and mentorship

    Preferred:

    • Experience with HPE/Aruba networking equipment is highly desired

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

    • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

    • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds when necessary
