We are seeking a Lead Financial Accounting and Reporting Analyst to be responsible for accounting, reconciliation and recording of investment and cash processing. This is a 12-month contract, full time assignment. Preference for individuals in Pittsburgh who are able to work hybrid.


What You’ll Do:

  • Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the accounting, reconciliation, and recording of investment and cash processing activities

  • Prepare income and balance sheet statements and/or journal entries for income received Prepare financial and business related analyses and research

  • May maintain spreadsheets and databases to facilitate analysis and reporting

  • Communicates with other departments in the preparation of analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliations, investigating all discrepancies and resolving errors

  •  Manage and review the flow of third-party data files into the investment accounting system, verifying accuracy and integrity of investment transactions and financial information reported in the investment accounting system

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of transactions and asset listings between custody bank statements and the investment accounting system for assigned investment portfolios

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of transactions and asset listing between the general ledger and investment accounting system for assigned accounts. Identify and resolve errors in a timely manner

Prepare investment schedules and journal entries for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis of investment data for internal and external customers, integrating data from a variety of sources
     

  • What You’ll Need
    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or other closely related field

    • 5 years of relevant, progressive experience in accounting, experience working with accounting concepts used in investments

    • Experience with GAAP and STAT accounting concepts

    • Experience using Clearwater Analytics

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • Strong relationship building skills

    • Client focused with strong business acumen

    • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team

    • Ability to think strategically and act proactively to create strong trust and confidence with business units

    • Strong innovative problem-solving capabilities


    Preferred:

    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or other closely related field.

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

    • Professional certification in accounting or financial analysis

    • Local to Pittsburgh, PA

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

    • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationery most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

    • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

    The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave as provided by applicable law.
