Job Title: Lead Application Engineer

Locations: Vauxhall, London

Reports to: Sr Application Engineering Manager

Job Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to expand our team, which focusses on our data centre simulation software and corresponding consultancy services. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic group, in a varied role with an exciting array of opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

Contribute towards the use and development Cadence's proprietary CFD & engineering simulation software, 6SigmaDC. Specific responsibilities include:

Consultancy services

  • Work with high-profile customers
  • Perform simulation and analyses, site surveys, report generation and presentations
  • International travel may be required
  • Lead customer projects

Testing and design

  • Research modelling techniques using existing and new software functionality
  • Test new functionality
  • Generate suggestions for improvements

Technical software support

  • Provide direct-to-user software support and modelling advice
  • Support global resellers & other Cadence Design Systems offices
  • Produce and deliver training courses for customers
  • Coach other team members

Pre-sales support

  • Demonstrate software to prospects
  • Provide technical knowledge in meetings
  • Produce training material including tutorials and instructional videos

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant engineering degree, for example, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering
  • 5 years or more of relevant industrial experience
  • Familiarity with CFD software (ideally 6SigmaDC) and CFD theory
  • Familiarity with Windows operating system, computer hardware and/or the data centre industry
