Vice President, Software Engineering

The Vice President of Software Engineering is a critical leader, providing leadership for several development areas supporting our next-generation Wealth p latform. You will play an important part in crafting multiple teams and will be a key player in optimizing the innovation and output of the team. This position is a core member of the Wealth Foundational Technology team and is responsible for leading a staff of full-time and contract professionals with multiple locations across the globe, primarily in the US and India.

Responsibilities:
Partner with the Broadridge Wealth leadership team to execute on its strategic goals.
Drive and optimize high quality, high output full life-cycle software development.
Drive Agile development best-practices across teams for efficient output and innovation.
Partner closely with infrastructure team to deliver high availability, high performance apps that economically meet SLAs.
Understand the needs of the client, and contribute to senior client relationships as a visible and vocal inspiring leader on the managem ent team.
Consistently deliver solutions with strong customer and business value.
Offer strategic guidance on application solutions, architectures, integration strategies, governance, quality assurance and business support processes.
Integrate disparate development teams with diverse practices, technology and toolsets in into a cohesive, synergistic, standards based and aligned development organization.
Deliver a combined business and IT roadmap to support business and IT strategy for the delivery of increased business capabilities, improved IT operational stability and reduced time and cost of delivery.
Develop the technology plan in support of key business objectives and with consideration of external trends and competitive advances.
Plan and execute development projects, ensure that teams have appropriate products and technical specifications, direction and resources to deliver projects on an aggressive, but achievable time lines.
Balance areas' supply and demand by monitoring Project/Change Requests, Support Requests, Defect Management, Resource allocations and ongoing progress towards stated goals.
Define and deploy transformational IT capabilities while maintaining service levels.
Execute on continuous improvement of the existing software applications and architecture and consistently ensure quality deliverables.
Influence and implement change strategies that will improve end to end execution of IT invest projects to reduce cost, improve quality and time to market.
Effectively partner with the Architecture and other IT leaders to ensure communication and collaboration across a diverse business and IT community. Form relationships that enable shared solutions across the enterprise.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on software development tools, technology and application development methodologies.
Provide technology vision an d leadership and cultivate culture of empowerment and accountability.
Attract, develop and retain IT staff, primarily in Project Management, Business Analysis and Development disciplines.
Lead multiple directors and managers. Coach, empower and lead team members and organizations to their optimum performance.
We need someone who:
Is comfortable in the details and delivery of highly complex, scalable and robust solutions all the way to high level strategy, planning and communication to senior stakeholders
Will bring in best in class processes and drive improvements in our SDLC process are the team
Will be the technical advocate and owner to define the technology road map for the team
Is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Can challenge and drive change
Can lead and drive his/her own team as well as dependent teams impacting overall delivery
Proposes innovation and creativity in the delivery of all our solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (Master's Degree desirable)
8+ years in a leadership role including experience leading a team, setting priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives
Front or Back office and/or financial services knowledge, especially in Wealth Management
Prior hands-on development in backend and integration technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Informatica, Mulesoft, and SQL and No-SQL databases
Experience building highly scalable ETL based applications
Knowledge and experience of unit testing, continuous integration, automated testing, and appropriate documentation
Experience in the full development lifecycle (including both Agile and Waterfall) and DevOps
Experience of developing soft ware in a regulated business environment
Experience working and delivering across a multi-location team
Experience migrating from legacy technologies
Experience working with strategic vendors
Experience with cloud based applications and AWS
