Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trading Platform Architect with a strong background in deploying complex UL, Tbricks, or similar trading systems. This is a new role, helping our engineering department to move from a component-based delivery model to a platform-based deployment model. This person would ideally be located within the US region or time zone as they would be required to represent the engineering department in that area.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing solutions that span multiple customer use cases and asset classes. They should be comfortable challenging and optimizing designs from product, sales, or engineering teams to achieve the best long term solution inline with the engineering and company strategy. This individual will play a crucial role in shaping the global trading platform architecture we are building and must possess a deep understanding of trading technologies and best practices for real-world customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and robust solutions for complex UL or Tbricks systems
- Guide engineering teams on providing sensible default configuration and behaviour to allow our services to be delivered "out the box"
- Be able to represent the wider engineering organisation within the Americas region
- Collaborate with product and delivery teams to challenge and optimize designs and implementations, favouring longer term strategic engineering thinking over short term tactical solutions
- Contribute to design and implementation discussions regarding the future of global trading platform architecture
- Perform reviews of software deliverables from engineering, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose for integration with the trading platform
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to improve system performance, installation, operations and reliability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams around the globe to ensure alignment on platform design and architecture
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 4+ years experience in Java Core (JDK), C++, or equivalent language for server-side/backend development
- Proven experience deploying complex UL, Tbricks, or equivalent trading systems
- Strong understanding of trading technologies and best practices when deploying such solutions
- Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable and reliable systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across company department boundaries
- Effective level of English proficiency to perform in this cross-regional role
- Experience leading a team or acting as the senior engineer within a team
- Experience in version control technologies and change management systems (e.g. Git/JIRA)
- Proficient in bash or Python scripting
