We are looking for a Senior Director of Data Center Engineering to guide the organization in optimizing our data center capabilities, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability. In order to achieve the business objectives, collaboration across the technology organization and various business units is paramount. This role demands a deep understanding of current data center technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data center management and strategy

Responsibilities:
  • Execute on strategic vision; provide the leadership domain expertise to assure the consistent execution of this vision
  • Responsible for developing a competitive technical operations strategy, centered around resiliency and scalability
  • Enablement of a customer-focused environment for both internal and external customers, focused on anticipation, detection and resolution
  • Plan, develop, implement and maintain Service Level Agreements, both internally as well as with partners and vendors
  • Champion proactive monitoring, telemetry and observability, ensuring customer experience is successful, positive, and consistent
  • Program level sponsorship responsibility with respect to implementation of standards and practices to deliver best in class client experience
  • Data Center Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of existing data center infrastructures, identifying areas for improvement, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Consolidation Strategies: Develop and implement strategies for consolidating data center assets and operations. This includes reducing physical footprint, optimizing resource usage, and streamlining processes.
  • Strategic Planning: Create long term strategic plans for data center evolution, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and technological advancements.
  • Project Management: Lead data center projects, coordinating with cross functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the implementation of third party solutions.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure data centers comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, particularly focusing on data security and privacy.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform cost benefit analyses for data center initiatives, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the IT team, staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology related field or equivalent experience
  • Exhibited technical expertise related to large-scale infrastructure deployments
  • Proven experience as a data center Architecture or a related role.
  • Years of experience in designing and implementing data center solutions with a focus on assessment, consolidation, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with largescale data center migration and consolidation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  • Expertise in server virtualization technologies
  • Proficiency in storage area networks (SAN), network attached storage (NAS) and storage protocols.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of sever hardware, blade systems, and data center infrastructure components.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and practices with data center environments.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, tactical planning, business and project management as well as customer and vendor relationship building.
  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills with the ability to positively impact an organization's bottom line.
  • Success motivating and aligning large cross-functional, matrixed teams striving towards a common goal.
  • Ability to multi-task different projects/priorities whilst delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, networking, and server technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
