About the Role
We're hiring a highly capable Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. Based in Manila, this role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in network security, firewall governance, and intrusion detection. You'll support the oversight and governance of our global firewall infrastructure using specialized tools (not direct firewall configuration) and help strengthen our detection and response capabilities through logging and monitoring platforms. This is a high-impact role, working closely with global teams and participating in off-hours support rotations.

Responsibilities
- Drive firewall governance processes by reviewing and validating access requests through internal tooling
- Ensure compliance with security policies and help improve network segmentation standards
- Analyze and advise on firewall and access control changes across multiple environments
- Monitor IDS/IPS alerts, perform traffic analysis, and support detection tuning efforts
- Use platforms like Security Onion and other open-source/commercial tools to support visibility and monitoring
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams across regions
- Document decisions and technical recommendations clearly for both technical and governance audiences
- Participate in an off-hours support rotation for security escalations
- 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Network Security, or a closely related role
- Deep understanding of network protocols, routing, segmentation, and firewall principles
- Solid experience working with firewall technologies, especially in a governance or oversight capacity
- Familiarity with IDS/IPS platforms, detection engineering, and alert triage workflows
- Hands-on experience with Security Onion or similar threat detection platforms
- Clear and effective communication in English, both spoken and written
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to operate independently in a distributed team
- Availability to support off-hours operations and incident response
