We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering, implementation, and operational management of three mission-critical post-trade software products (Cage, VPS and OAES). These platforms handle the full lifecycle of clearing and settlement workflows, including trade capture, netting, matching, reconciliation, and asset movement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ready to take on more responsibility in a critical business domain (clearing and settlements).

These platforms include a diverse range of technology including distributed Java and mainframe technologies, and include critical customer implementations and strategic technology renewal initiatives with seven engineering teams engaged in this area across the three products. The role will also play an important role in contributing to the direction and implementation of the integrated platform from a settlements perspective.

This role encompasses management of teams within technology engineering, and has responsibility for the development, coding and programming of applications for systems for the business to process transactions in the clearing and settlement domain. This also includes contributing to business analysis to identifybusinessneeds and determining solutions to businessproblems, as well as quality assurance, testing and operations.

Responsibilities:

Engineering & Delivery
  • Lead the end-to-end engineering, enhancement, and operations of three core post-trade software platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short- and long-term solutions to technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure.
  • Translate complex regulatory/business requirements into actionable engineering plans; oversee the software development lifecycle and continuous delivery practices.
  • Oversee delivery of critical projects-including new features, regulatory changes, client onboarding, and platform integrations-across globally distributed teams.
  • Guide technical decisions and architecture for backend systems; ensure data integrity and operational reliability
  • Lead development of program logic for new applications or analyses and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Drive consistent and continuously improving agile engineering practices across collocated teams in India, US and Canada, including for code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
Implementation Leadership
  • Manage the end-to-end implementation of new product features, regulatory changes, and client onboarding across multiple related teams, setting team priorities and allocating resources in line with business and technology priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-team delivery schedules, environment readiness, deployment planning, and cutover execution.
  • Ensure readiness for market integrations, regulatory deadlines, and external stakeholder deliverables.
  • Ability to influence others internally and externally, including senior leaders.
Operational Excellence
  • Own production health for post-trade platforms, including monitoring, incident response, and performance management.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, SRE, and Information Security to maintain robust observability, availability, and regulatory compliance posture.
  • Represent engineering for internal and external audits in the relevant applications.
Global Team Leadership
  • Manage engineering teams in the US, Canada, and India (operating under a matrix reporting model for the India based teams).
  • Drive delivery, technical alignment, and collaboration across all regions.
  • Coordinate with local India leadership on people management, HR, and regional support.
  • Foster a strong, unified engineering culture across time zones - encouraging knowledge sharing, mentorship, and team ownership.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career growth support to engineers and team leads.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering management, leading large engineering teams, ideally across multiple geographies and reporting structures.
  • Technical depth in backend systems, APIs, distributed architectures, and secure financial platforms.
  • Proven success in production systems management, incident response, and service reliability (SLAs, monitoring, root-cause analysis).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; experience collaborating with Product, Operations, Compliance, and other partners.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and driving modern engineering best practices (CI/CD, test automation, documentation).
  • Comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders - including Compliance, Operations, and external partners.
  • Expertise in setting priorities, resource planning, and team delivery across time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with post-trade systems, especially in clearing, settlement, netting, reconciliation, or asset/cash movement.
  • Knowledge of financial messaging standards (e.g., FIX, SWIFT, ISO 20022).
  • Experience with central counterparties, clearing/settlement mechanisms, or settlement agents.
  • Familiarity with North American or global financial regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with cloud-native systems (especially AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevSecOps.
  • Exposure to capital markets products (equities, derivatives, fixed income).
Salary range $180,000 - $225,000.Bonus Eligible.
