Broadridge is Growing! We are seeking a Print Programmer to join our team on contract bases in a remote capacity. A Programmer is one of a Team of development professionals focused on designing, constructing, testing and providing support for Broadridge Customer Communications, systems, and projects. Accountable for project results (meeting commitments on cost, functionality, time-to-market, quality) and ensuring that actions, deliverables, solutions and/or advice are in line with established business objectives. Errors in quality or design can have a significant impact on business operations and market perception of Broadridge's capabilities.

Work-Mode: This is a remote role where you will work off-site. Travel is limited and generally used for team learning and collaboration meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct high level technical analysis of ideas to determine feasibility and approach.
  • Provide accurate work estimates, a critical component for building project timelines and establishing delivery commitments.
  • Maintenance and migration of existing code basis to newer platforms.
  • Execute test cases, verifying results to expected outcomes prior to release of code for business or client acceptance testing.
  • Provide input into integration, implementation and deployment content and strategies, maintaining operating manuals and system documentation as necessary.
  • Special projects, tasks or assignments, as required, to ensure the success of the Department.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of programming, database, testing & deployment tools, techniques, and languages applicable to the products or systems with which they work.
  • Strong knowledge of application analysis and design methodologies, including database concepts.
  • Practical experience with: .NET, DOS scripting, Perl, XML
  • Working knowledge of Emtex VDE scripting and the AFP file format would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of the software development project life cycle and standards.
  • Proven ability to break down ideas, problems, or opportunities into core components, recognize linkages or gaps, and restructure into a viable business solution.
  • Ability to make recommendations on the design, structure, enhancement or modifications of products, procedures, work flows or programs.
  • Ability to understand requirement documents, write technical specifications, operating manuals and system documentation, and conduct technical walkthrough's.
  • Diagnostic abilities and the ability to develop & recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to place the appropriate sense of urgency on requests or escalations, and participation in the scoping and evaluation of product/application/system release content.
  • Proven ability to assess progress of tasks against targets and develop corrective actions or recommendations to ensure goals are met.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge of technologies, projects, processes or applications/systems to Team members.
  • Able to work independently or as a member of a Team, as directed by his/her Manager.
