In your past life, you may have been an intra- or entrepreneur, product manager, or consultant – with experience bringing a scalable new offer to market, leading diverse and interdisciplinary teams, stewarding change, and collaborating with partners. You fundamentally think that when you design a new product, service, or experience, you’re simultaneously improving the world and crafting a vision and roadmap or growth. You also recognize that sometimes it’s about teaching an org how to fish, transferring the innovation, design thinking, and agile methods to your partners, often driving culture change and relationship development along the way.
Working as an Innovation Manager
You will own the product / project by managing a team of 5 to 10 people through the innovation journey converting concepts and opportunities into strategies and products
Present finds and recommendations to executive management related to the decision if concepts and ideas should be incubated into new businesses and products
Drive a design thinking methodology and become an advocate for research and data driven decision making based upon the needs of the end user
You are comfortable leading/collaborating/partnering with cross functional teams comprised of designers, strategists, engineers, researchers …
* Comfortable working in an agile environment
What you will bring to the role:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product management or innovation role
A proficiency in applying design thinking approaches towards the creation of new products and businesses
An ability to lead through influence, working within the team and across the enterprise to get things done
Previous experience in a digital agency or lab type environment would be helpful but not a requirement
A Strong understanding of new technologies and agile business principles
Familiarity with agile product management tools
Comfortable leading/facilitating workshops
An ability to exercise decision-making and independent judgment while being aligned with customers and management.
