Join our dynamic team at Broadridge, where we are seeking a talented full stack Software Engineer. The Associate Software Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, maintenance, providing production support, participating in testing, and providing support for the installation of the information systems. The successful candidate will be committed to leveraging technology to drive innovative solutions and will have 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, with a preferred background in financial services or a related field.
Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short- and long-term solutions to technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure. Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements software solutions. Provides application software development services typically in a defined project. Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented. May test new software code and typically works in a highly efficient ("Agile") development environment.

- Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents
- Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies
- Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
- Develop, test, and implement software solutions, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to design and build scalable, high-performance applications using OpenEdge (Progress), Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and PostgreSQL.
- Participate in Waterfall and Agile development processes, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems by analyzing requirements, identifying issues, and implementing improvements.
- Ensure software quality through adherence to established software development methodologies and practices, including code reviews and testing.
- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with colleagues to share insights and drive continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- 1+ years of experience in software engineering is highly desirable, with a focus on OpenEdge (Progress) and Java development.
- Experience designing and building web-based applications (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Web Frameworks such as VueJs, React)
- Experience with Windows and UNIX
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the brokerage or financial industry is highly desirable.
